Chapter Philanthropy and Service

In 2012, Southern California Alumnae Council designated a Saturday in January 2013  to be dedicated to a local children's charity and designated the day as "Delta Love Day".  Southern California alumnae and collegiate chapters were encouraged to work together to support a local children's cancer organization or chlldren's charity of their choice, where they could have "hands-on" involvement and give back to their own community.  To support this activity,  alumnae members from the San Gabriel-Crescenta Valley alumnae chapter, along with collegiate members of Theta Xi chapter at USC, chose to support the Pasadena Ronald McDonald House, located near Huntington Hospital.  Our members collect and donate items from the house “Wish List”. Theta Xi collegians and SG-CV alumnae take donations to the house and are given a tour.   Donations include food, toys, books and personal care items to support the residents of the two houses.

The 2021Delta Love Day event will be a each member's discretion.   Anyone wanting to make a donation of goods should take their donation to the Ronald McDonald House, 763 S Pasadena Ave, Pasadena, CA 91105.  There are two tables placed next to the driveway, and a telephone number is listed for contact.  Monetary donations are welcome and can be mailed to the house.  For more information on this group, go to their website: Pasadena Ronald McDonald House (rmhcsc.org).
